Privacy Policy overview

Arden Winch & Co Ltd, its subsidiaries and affiliates (hereinafter collectively referred to as "Arden Winch" and "we") respect the privacy of our customers and online visitors and recognise the importance of protecting your personal data in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation 2018. We have therefore adopted a corporate-wide privacy statement that guides how it collects, stores and uses the information you provide us when you visit our website, or contact us via email, telephone, fax or in-person.

 

Consent, what information is collected & how?

Web enquiries/orders:

Arden Winch will require consent before using and processing any personal data and only during: (1) Purchase of products, (2) ‘Contact Us’ email, (3) Request for an Arden Winch account.

Orders placed via email, telephone, fax or in-person:

Arden Winch will require opt-in consent before we can collect and process any personal data for the purposes of answering any enquiries or the processing of any orders.

The requested information may include personal identifying information such as your name, address (Home or Work), email address, phone number, fax number, other relevant contact names.

 

Data Usage, Processing & Distribution

The information you provide to us is collected by Arden Winch for the sole purpose of b2b (business to business), or b2c (business to consumer) transactions and will not be shared with third-party vendors other than (1) to fulfil orders; or (2) to provide you feedback on technical support or customer service enquiries. In the event of using a third-party vendor for the specified reasons, any third-party vendors have agreed to maintain the confidentiality and security of the information we share with them.

 

Legitimate interest

Arden Winch may use this information to pursue our legitimate interests in a way which might reasonably be expected as part of running our business.

For example, we will use your purchase history to keep you updated with New Products, Special Offers, Promotions and any Safety/Product Recalls!

We may also combine the purchasing history of many customers to identify trends and ensure we can keep up with demand or seek alternative products/services.

 

Right of Access by the data subject

You have the right to access the data we hold for you under Article 15 of the General Data Protection Regulation 2018. You can request this at any time by emailing a formal Subject Access Request (SAR) to privacy@ardenwinch.com

Once identified, we will forward the requested data within 1 month of receiving the request.

 

Right to Rectification (Updating Your Personal Information)

Under Article 16 of the General Data Protection Regulation 2018. The data subject shall have the right to obtain from the controller without undue delay the rectification of inaccurate personal data concerning him or her. This can be requested at any time by emailing a formal request for Rectification to: privacy@ardenwinch.com

Once identified, we will be happy to implement the necessary changes and formally inform you when this has been completed.

 

Right to Erasure (Right to be forgotten) / Right to Object

Under Article 17 of the General Data Protection Regulation 2018. The data subject shall have the right to obtain from the controller the erasure of personal data concerning him or her without undue delay and the controller shall have the obligation to erase personal data without undue delay.

Under Article 21 of the General Data Protection Regulation 2018. The data subject shall have the right to object, on grounds relating to his or her particular situation, at any time to processing of personal data concerning him or her, where personal data are processed for direct marketing purposes

If you decide you would no longer like Arden winch to retain or process your personal data for the purposes of B2B, or B2C transactions, you may opt out by emailing an official erasure request to: privacy@ardenwinch.com where upon confirmation of identity, we will erase your personal details from our systems in line with Article 17 of the EU GDPR and formally inform you when this has been completed. This will mean that without your details, we can no longer trade in the same manner, nor will be able to forward on any manufacturers safety/product recalls! 

Exceptions: Erasure may be refused for reasons such as (1) Any outstanding transaction, litigation or similar situations where there is a legitimate need to make contact as part of our terms and conditions or contractual obligations. (2) Data is required for investigations regarding criminal justice and taxation, (See Legal compliance) however such an instance would have to be considered on a case-by-case basis.

 

Privacy and Children

Arden Winch’s web site does not offer information intended to attract children. We do not knowingly solicit personal data from children under the age of 13.

 

Legal compliance

If the law requires us to, we may need to collect and process your data. 

For example, we can pass on details of people involved in fraud or other criminal activity.

 

Processing Data Outside of European Economic Area (EEA)

Arden Winch is a UK business and does not at this point in time, transmit any data outside of the EU. Our email data is currently stored securely on Microsoft’s Hosted Exchange, in one of three locations within the UK.

 

Cookies

We may store information about you using cookies (files which are sent by us to your computer or other access device) which we can access when you visit our site in the future. We do this to enhance your shopping experience and to provide us with feedback.

The cookies we use are:

ASP.NET_SessionId - This cookie is used to determine who you are, so when you add items to your basket they do not go into anyone else's.

 

__atuvc - This cookie is used by our AddThis button, which lets you share content to Twitter, Facebook and other places. It is used to show the updated count of times an item has been 'shared'. No data from the cookie is sent back to AddThis.

 

__utma, __utmb, __utmc, __utmz - All these cookies are from Google Analytics. They help us to track which sites you are visiting from, if you have visited before, and how long you spend browsing our site. This allows us to see our most popular sources of traffic and any areas where content needs to be improved to hold the visitor's attention.

IP addresses are logged as part of standard web directory log files, which are for internal use by our third party (Web host) in monitoring site traffic and statistics. These are classed as personal data under the General Data Protection Regulation 2018 and therefore erasure may be requested. Once we have confirmed your identity, we will ensure that our web host erase your personal details from their systems in line with Article 17 of the EU GDPR and formally inform you either directly or via Arden Winch as soon as this has been completed.

You should be aware that when you are on Arden Winch's web site, you could be directed to other sites that are beyond our control. There are links to other sites from Arden Winch's web site that may take you outside our service.
